UPDATE: MacDavis met his family at our last event in Banning Park. We could tell that they thought he was as wonderful as we do. He had his home visit today and we are pleased to announce that our pretty boy is going home "furever" on Friday. He is getting a nice little 6 year old girl and two cats. He was much happier to meet the cats then the cats were him, but we hope we will win them over with his sweet and gentle ways. We are very happy for our dear Mac and his new family.
This is a 1 year old sweet collie mix. His owners surrendered him to Kent County DE SPCA because they could not afford to take care of his Lyme Disease.
4/17/06 FOSTER UPDATE: Mac spent the long Easter weekend with me and he truly is the sweetest boy! He loved running and playing with my 7 year old son, I don't know who was more tired! He lets you know when he has to go out by gently putting his paws up on your lap or arm! He only went on the couch a few times, it seemed he preferred the carpet munching away on his many chewies! He even got Easter dinner, spiral ham and kielbasa (which he loved!) Mac also held his own and wrestled and played with my 105 pound Dobie mix Sasha. I grew up with collies and Mac has the beautiful qualities of the collie breed. He will make someone very happy in his forever home.
03/06/06 Mac has fully recovered from his Lyme. He was a very sick boy but we treated his Lyme aggressively with a course of 6 weeks of antibotics. He will require urine tests every 6 months for 2 years to maintain his health.
He is very active, loves to play with the other dogs, and LOVES people, kids and cats. He is also very smart - including figuring out how to jump gates and use doors. He can sit, knows come & stay (but doesn't always do it), and answers to his name. He is such a sweetheart!
At the Mingle, Mac charmed everyone with his sweet gentle personality and his stunning good looks. He likes children as well as adults and enjoyed playing with all the dogs.
UPDATE: Mac is my new boyfriend. I just LOVE LOVE LOVE his sweet face, long collie nose, and his extremely gentle soul. He is the kind of dog I grew up with. I have very wonderful warm loving feelings to have this beautiful pup in my life.
He is the prettiest boy, sweet, gentle, submissive. If you've ever had a collie in your life, he has the darling loving, soft heart of a collie. He is kind and playful and will make anyone an adoring companion.
All L&F dogs/pups are crate & potty trained, temperament tested, have been chosen for sweet, gentle dispositions, and are living in foster homes with families. They each have had the following:
SPAYED/NEUTERED
Microchipped
Tested for Heartworm, Lyme, Ehrlichia
On HeartGuard & Frontline Plus (as long as they are with us)
Rabies, Distemper, Parvo vaccines.
Intra Trac ll Kennel Cough
Two De-Wormings
PLEASE NOTE: Any dog/pup adopted from us must have a fenced in property either physical or Electric Fence IF there are children in the home.
If you need a fence for your dog, but are not permitted to have a physical fence, or chose not to, please visit our friends at Pet Stop. Mention that you saw them at our website and they have promised to send us a donation to help our rescue work.

We also expect that if no one is home all day, arrangements will be made to provide the dog with at least (1) "potty break" daily, whether it is through a family member, neighbor or petsitting service. We know that it is impossible for us humans to "hold it" for 8-10 hours, so we do not want our "shelter kids" to be expected to do so.
We have several petsitting service companies that we can recommend:
www.homesweethomepetsit.org/ in PA & DE
www.delawarepooperscoopers.com in PA, NJ, & DE
http://www.tlcpetsitting.net/ in MD
